This is a bike route that goes from Boulder, CO into the foothills and back to Boulder, without turning around.

Use the Boulder creek path, which runs along Boulder Canyon. It is dirt in places, but so is the rest of this route.

This is the crazy loop for people who think gaining 3200 feet of altitude sounds fun. This is about 20 miles round trip from Boulder, with the 3500 feet of vertical gain.

This is Sunshine Canyon into Gold Hill, then Gold Run Road to Fourmile Canyon to Boulder Canyon.

If you start out going up Sunshine Canyon, at almost any point if you turn around, it is all downhill into town, with some sections reaching 40 mph.

Gold Hill is almost the top of the Sunshine-Fourmile loop. There are quite a few ways out of this town, mostly all downhill.
