Highland Tavern
3400 Navajo St Denver CO Ok, I know, if you are staying downtown, find a cab and come to one of the coolest neighborhood bars in town. Every day they have different drink specials, the food is good, the service outstanding, and the locals are friendly in this up and coming Denver community, just don't tell anyone were you heard of the place. |

Benny's Restaurante Y Tequila Bar
301 E 7th Ave Denver CO Benny;s is not a chain Mexican joint. It has been in Capitol Hill for over 20 years serving authentic Mexican food and out of this world Margaritas all at a reasonable price. Benny's is a popular watering hole for many Colorado political types. I have had almost everything on the menu, and it is all good. The smothered burritos are a must try. Bring some friends, order a pitcher of margaritas, and have a fund dinner, or lunch. |

Brewery Bar II
150 Kalamath St Denver CO This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of Colorado. They have by far the best green chili in town, other than my fathers. The food is fantastic, but those who don't like really spicey food, make sure to order the chili mild. The hot will get you sweating, in a good way. Don't let the rough neighborhood scare you away, this place is a favorite of cops and locals alike. |

Shag Lounge
830 15th St Denver CO The Shag Lounge is a newer bar located in an old building. The vibe is hip, with retro styling. The drinks are well made and a bargain compared to many downtown bars. On Sundays $1 PBR's (in the can) make this the spot on Sunday nights. The live Dj's keep the music flowing, if you want to dance, or just have a few drinks with friends, give this local hot spot a try. |
